Boise Cheer - Optimist Cheerleading Program
Optimist Youth Football Cheer provides a fun, spirited game‑day experience for athletes ages 4–13. Cheer squads support their paired football teams throughout the season while building confidence, teamwork, and community pride.
Cheer Program Details
The Basics
📣 Open to participants ages 4–13
📣 Registration for Boise, Meridian, and Eagle opens April 1 for the Fall 2026 season
📣 Squads are formed with friends, siblings, and neighbors of mixed ages and skill levels
📣 Practices are held at the same location as the assigned football team for easy family scheduling
Cheer Camp
⭐ All cheerleaders participate in a pre‑season cheer camp
⭐ Camp focuses on learning new cheers, building teamwork, and boosting spirit
⭐ Football teams are encouraged to attend and support their cheer squads
⭐ A fun, positive environment designed for all experience levels
Game Day Experience
⭐ Cheer squads perform endzone area cheers throughout each game
⭐ Halftime routines are performed for their paired football team
⭐ Cheerleaders stand in designated endzone areas for safety and visibility
⭐ Helps create a full family game‑day atmosphere, especially for families with kids in both programs

📣 Encourage positive support between cheer squads and football teams
📣 Help young athletes grow in confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship
Siblings and friends: join Cheer! Cheer is a great way for siblings, friends, and neighbors to get involved with Optimist. Each football team can have its own cheer squad, supported by clear guidance and an early‑season camp. Cheerleaders practice at the same time and location as their paired football team, making scheduling easy for families. Squads bring energy to game day with sideline spirit and halftime performances. Open to ages 4-13 years. Registration fees for the Fall 2026 season are $150. The cheer uniform is provided.
