Optimist Youth Football Cheer
Cheer is open to youths 4 years through 12 years old.
Squads are composed of siblings, friends, and neighbors of various ages and skill levels. The squad practices at the same location as the football team, helping to make it easier for parents with multiple participants, and helping build unity among the two squads.
Prior to the start of games all the cheer squads take part in a cheer camp which is designed as an event to learn new cheers and show off team spirit in a friendly, constructive environment. Football squads are encouraged to support their cheerleaders and take part in the fun. During the season the cheer squads perform during team’s halftime, and during each game, cheer on the football players from the specifically marked sections of the parents’ sideline.
The goal is to create a fun cheerleading experience for all participants and help create team spirit during games and other team events. With the addition of cheer, game days now are a full family experience where if there are multiple siblings participating, parents can watch all the kids having a great time.
